Jayne Whitton has Masters in Marketing with 20 years of experience in the public and not -for-profit sector. Jayne leads The Children’s Society’s marketing directorate, and also leading passionately on the Seen and Heard project to help health and care professionals spot the signs of child sexual abuse.
Along with the rest of the team at The Children’s Society, and in partnership with the Department of Health and NHS England, Jayne is determined to help make sure that no victim of abuse or exploitation goes unseen or unheard and is keen to recruit many more partners and champions to help us roll out this innovative, simple new training.
One in 20 children in the UK has been sexually abused but many aren’t identified or don’t feel that they can disclose. Everyone, from reception and administrative staff, to midwives, dentists and GPs have a role to play. The training was produced in partnership with the Department of Health and NHS England as part of their child sexual abuse strategy. It has young people’s voices and experiences at the centre and a hard-hitting film following the powerful story of a boy called Tyler.
