Event description
Come join us for a lunch panel to discuss U.K.-China collaboration in film, TV & media for global sustainability.

About this event

Registration deadline: 15th October

As COP26 is approaching, more and more dialogues are taking place from now until November, to engage with vital debates about our future. But this particular topic is a unique one.

Co-organised by tve and UK-China Film Collab, we have invited speakers to discuss how the UK and China can collaborate in film, TV & media to promote global sustainability together. China is recognised as the leading partner for all countries to tackle environment issues while at the same time, it is also the biggest market for film and screen content consumption. How can the UK embrace this double leading role? What storytelling strategies can be used to engage audience from both sides and to raise awareness about environment issues?

  • What opportunities are there for UK filmmakers and companies?
  • Who will be the target audience?
  • What is the market size in China for film and tv content on environmental issues?
  • What will be the successful collaboration models and strategies to adapt

Come and join our experts to explore these questions in depth and share your views.

Mei Sim Lai, OBE DL , Chair of tve

Cheryl Campbell, Co-President, 2021 tve GFSA

Professor Hugo de Burgh, Director of China Media Centre

tve Global Sustainability Film Awards 2021 Now Open for Submissions. The tve Global Sustainability Film Awards (GSFA) recognise outstanding films from the business, non-profit, media and creative sectors that inspire audiences with real-world solutions for a more sustainable future.

This year, CBCGDF will also submit 3 films to the competition to participate in this global debate via the format of short film. GSFA welcomes more film submissions from China in the future and UK-China Film Collab will continue to advocate this call via its resources and network.
