    About the day

Please let us know if you have any access requirements while you are in Horizon House.

How to get to Horizon House

The main entrance to Horizon House is through the green glass doors on Deanery Road, opposite the Bristol Central Library. Find on Google maps: https://www.google.co.uk/maps

Bristol Temple Meads (BS1 6QF) is the nearest mainline station. It’s about a 20-25 minute walk to Horizon House. There are several walking routes; see https://walkit.com/cities/bristol/

Many buses stop at or near Temple Meads to Horizon House, including routes 1, 2, 8 and 9. It’s often quicker to walk than take the bus. Fares are about £2.00 each way.

A taxi from Bristol Temple Meads takes about 10mins (depending on traffic) and costs about £7. Ask for College Green.

Car Horizon House is located behind the Council Buildings on Deanery Road (BS1 5AH). It can be accessed by any of the major routes into Bristol M32, A4, A37 or A38 but most local streets are resident permit holders or short-term pay-and-display. The College Street car park behind and under Horizon House has a 4 hour limit.

The nearest long-stay parking is Trenchard Street (10 min walk) or Millennium Square (5 min walk),https://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/carpark/millennium_square/bs1/bristol/?arriving=201802131400&leaving=201802131600

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.

The nearest food store is Tesco Express on College Green, which also has a cash machine – but you’re best exploring the local area as there are lots of shops, cafes and restaurants from national chains and local independents.

Smoking, including vaping and e-cigarettes, isn’t allowed anywhere in the building, including toilets, basement and balcony. Anyone wishing to smoke may do so outside the building.

    Overnight Stay

We are not able to recommend places to stay for attendees wishing to stay overnight in Bristol. However, the following hotels are the closest three to Horizon House.

If you have any further queries about the event, please email wildlife.licensing@apha.gsi.gov.uk or call 0117 372 3700.
