Adaptive content: What you need to know to create intelligent, flexible, format-free content

The idea of adaptive content is nothing new. The digital publishing community has been working with it for years. However, as more and more businesses rush to embrace the value inherent in the phrase 'create once, publish everywhere', the web content strategy discipline must get up to speed quickly with what adaptive content really means for us and for our clients.

For our next group meeting, we're extremely lucky to have not one but three experts in this field on hand to explain just what it takes to create usable content for a multichannel world. Come prepared as there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion!


Mike Quinn: Delivering personalised experiences
Developing content for a multichannel world doesn't happen in a vacuum. It's vital we have a detailed understanding of how people consume and use our content long before we turn it into the flexible, adaptable business asset we know it can be. Mike will be talking about how businesses can efficiently and effectively leverage visitor behaviour and foundational insights to deliver personalised engagement across all digital channels.

Noz Urbina: Beyond mobile
Mobile delivery is a challenge - and an opportunity. We could meet the challenge by picking our favourite mobile formats and throwing resources at them, or take this chance to rethink our CS and get our content (and ourselves) ready. Noz will explain what it means to produce content that’s adaptive, intelligent and ready for whatever platforms the future holds. He’ll also discuss how we move beyond desktop/mobile publishing and get to grips with true multi-platform publishing. 

Cleve Gibbon: Content architectures for adaptive content
To make content intelligent so that it can be readily adapted requires greater upstream thinking and wider involvement from those responsible for planning, creating and managing content. In short, a unified content strategy. However, adaptive content also requires flexibility from the content architectures delivering those unified content strategies. In this session, Cleve will present a couple of content architectures for delivering adaptive content. 


About our speakers 

Mike Quinn
Mike has over 15 years of experience in the IT industry at companies including Shuttle, Quantum, Emulex and Adobe. His technological background encompasses networking and management, security, cloud based systems and processes. Mike is the Product Marketing Manager for Adobe's Digital Marketing Suite and as such is responsible for messaging around the products that deliver optimised content.

Noz Urbina
Noz is a Senior Consultant, Trainer and Presales Manager for Mekon Ltd., where he defines and enhances the customer engagement process from beginning to end. With many years of experience as a content strategy and content management consultant, Noz has provided services to Fortune 500 organisations and small-to-medium enterprises.

Cleve Gibbon
Cleve is a seasoned technologist who brings his substantial background in computer science and digital marketing to bear in building bridges between the worlds of marketing and IT. With 15 years of delivering a wide variety of digital solutions for his clients, Cleve's focus lies squarely on creating author-friendly, brand-specific content platforms that ensure a brand's message connects with its audience.
