UK Fire & Smoke Modelling Forum - July 2018
by
FSMF.UK
Date and time
Description
In the UK, modelling is increasingly used as a tool in fire safety design. Currently, there is no forum in the UK where practitioners, researchers and AHJs can discuss matters relating specifically to fire and smoke modelling or mutually contribute to the state of the art. FSMF.UK was conceived to address these needs.
The forum will see seven presentations, covering an array of interesting topics:
- A CFD Engineer’s Perspective on Fire and Smoke Modelling, Jon Winchester (Wirth Research)
- Modelling compartment fires in informal settlements using different modelling techniques in FDS, Mohamed Beshir & David Rush (Edinburgh University)
- A comparison of zone models and CFD models for natural smoke filling in very large enclosures, Derwin Parkin (AECOM)
- Modelling flammable gas build-up in high rise buildings, Mark Keating & Graham Morrison (Gexcon)
Details of the remaining 3 presentations will be available shortly.
Coffee and lunch are complimentary, thanks to our sponsors: Olsson Fire & Risk UK, Trenton Fire and WSP.
