Event description

Description

Heartlands and HomeMade proudly present, as part of the UK Green Film Festival, a free screening of the environmental documentary film Daughter of the Lake.

At the height of the Peruvian gold rush, Nelida, an Andean woman able to communicate with the water spirits, uses her powers to prevent a mining corporation from destroying the body of water she considers her mother. Directed by Ernesto Cabellos Damián, Daughter of the Lake charts how a gold deposit worth billions of dollars led farmers into conflict with Latin America’s biggest gold producer.

This film is in Spanish (with some English), with English subtitles.

Free tickets include a canapé reception from 7pm and a film screening in the Heartlands Film Room at 7.45pm.
