Promoting research collaboration and academic interaction between Japan and the UK, Ritsumeikan University is delighted to present its Environment Forum supported by JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science), JCCI (Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the UK), and JETRO London. This is the second public lecture following forum of celebrating the 150th anniversary between UK-Japan collaboration in 2013. Special thanks go to the Embassy of Japan in the UK. The purpose of this forum is to introduce environmental issues in two nations from researchers of both Japan and UK through the sessions and discuss for creating a society capable of co-existing sustainably with nature.

Ritsumeikan Academy, based in Kyoto, is one of the largest private educational foundations in Japan, with a total of 46,000 students. In addition to Ritsumeikan University, founded in 1900 and hosting 32,000 students on four campuses, it also operates Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Beppu, Kyushu, founded in 2000, together with four junior and senior high schools and one primary school located throughout Japan.
