Description

This event will be of benefit to healthcare professionals with an interest in managing children with FH, including:

  • Consultants in Metabolic Paediatrics with an interest in managing Lipid disorders
  • Paediatric Nurses
  • Registrars in clinical Medicine and other relevant disciplines
  • Commissioners for Children’s services


Key learning aims/outcomes for the day:

  • Learn about recent findings of the Genetic causes of FH.
  • Understand the characteristics and current treatment of children on the UK FH Children’s Register.
  • Learn about the 2017 NICE Guideline for the management of children with FH.
  • Appreciate the parent’s experience of having a child with FH.
  • Learn about the importance of healthy dietary and lifestyle choices for children with FH.
  • Hear about the current Paediatric services in the North of England and Scotland.
  • Learn about current views on universal screening for FH by measuring cholesterol at time of MMR vaccination.
