Our quarterly online Meet-Ups for members and supporters are packed with lively discussion and activities with contributions from members and special guests.

We have already enjoyed two stimulating and engaging Meet-Ups this year. The Meet-Ups for the rest of 2025 will take place on the following dates:

Friday 19th September from 13.00 to 14.30 BST:

Putting Values at the Heart of Society

The need to put values at the heart of of society is greater than ever. At this Meet-Up we will be exploring the future of our society in the UK which at the moment looks more uncertain and difficult than it has for a long time. Values seem more needed than ever, and yet appear to be absent in so many areas of our national life, where so many institutions and leaders seem to have mislaid their values compass. What can we do to address this?

The session begins with a scene-setting talk on the urgent need for values by Professor Sir Al Aynsley-Green: "Purpose in life, principles and values - what do they mean for us?".

Sir Al was the first Children’s Commissioner for England and is now the first Professor of Compassionate Care in the UK. He is one of the most respected senior academic physicians in the UK today having been knighted for his services especially for children, young people, and families. He has been Professor of Child Health in the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Nuffield Professor and Director of Clinical R&D at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, the first National Clinical Director for Children in Government in the Department of Health, and President of the British Medical Association.

After Sir Al's talk there will be time for questions and answers, before we move on to outlining and then discussing the UK Values Alliance's plans to step up the scale and impact of our activities across the country. We are currently developing a new strategic plan to achieve this by extending our activities across all the nations and regions of the UK and introducing key initiatives to bring values to the forefront of public consciousness.

We are keen to hear your thoughts and your input on all of this. Please join us!

Friday 12th December from 13.00 to 14.30 GMT:

Values for 2026
What are the values that we will need to rely on most in 2026? Reflecting our World Values Day campaign around the theme of "Values for the Future", we will explore how we can best navigate the year ahead and the values that will be guiding and supporting us. More details about this event will be posted in due course.
