Who is the event for?

UKEduCamp is open to anyone who works in or around the Higher or Further Education sector in the UK. Whether you design or deliver course content, support learning by providing digital products or technology, set education policy or direction, or support student welfare and health.

Question 2

What is an unconference?

Accepted Answer

Essentially, it’s a conference without predefined topics or talks. There is a high-level structure and overarching theme, however the topics are generated on the day by the attendees.

Question 3

What kind of things can I pitch?

Accepted Answer

It's up to you, however we expect pitches will generally cover topics like; improving culture and ways of working, breaking down organisational silos, co-design techniques, embedding user research and UX, product design and development, agile and lean processes creating diverse and inclusive teams.

Question 4

What talks will there be at UK EduCamp 2023?

Accepted Answer

It’s up to you! The beauty of an unconference is that the attendees set the agenda by pitching sessions at the start of the day. During pitching, you will hear all of the potential sessions going on during the day, and you get to attend and participate in those which interest you the most!

Question 5

Can suppliers attend?

Accepted Answer

People who work for suppliers to the higher/further education sector, or public sector organisations more generally, are also welcome to come along and participate in the spirit of openness and sharing.

Question 6

How much does UKEduCamp 2023 cost to attend?

Accepted Answer

UKEduCamp 2023 is free to attend! We're very lucky to have some fantastic sponsors who have made it possible for the event to be free for everyone.

Question 7

Will lunch be provided?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We will be providing lunch for attendees. If you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies, please let us know via the sign up form. If conference lunches aren't your thing, you are also welcome to head out in to Sheffield to grab a bite to eat during the lunch break!

Question 8

Can I arrive late/leave early?

Accepted Answer

Yes. However if you wish to pitch and run a session you will need to be at the event during the pitching period (roughly 10-11am) and be available to run your session. If you have restrictions on your availability, there will be an opportunity to discuss this with the organising team on the day.

I’m travelling by car. Where is the best place to park?

Accepted Answer

Parking in the centre of Sheffield can be expensive and difficult to find, therefore we recommend taking public transport where possible.

The closest car park to the venue is the Rockingham Street Q-Park multistorey.

Question 10

I’m travelling by public transport. How do I get to the event?

Accepted Answer

From Sheffield Station - Exit the back of the station and take the blue line tram (Malin Bridge direction) and get off at the West Street stop (approx 7 mins). Tickets can be purchased on the tram - £2 single, £3.70 return. The event is a 2 minute walk from West Street tram stop.

Question 11

I have accessibility requirements. What facilities are available at this event?

Accepted Answer
