Event description

Description

This year we are organising a pre-UKEV workshop for Early Career Researchers to help you develop some of the skills needed for effective networking- including face to face and devleoping your online profile. You will then have the opportunity to try out your new found skills on the UKEV board members and UKEV2019 plenary speakers in the College Bar!

The session will be led by Dr Sam Byers from the University of Cambridge. Sam has a particular interest in personal effectivencess training, especially resilience and managing professional relationships. She is passionate about helping students with the skills she wishes she had been taught at that stage of her career! Sam holds a PhD in Endocrinology, with an undergraduate background in Veterinary Sciences. During her time as a postdoctoral researcher, she was able to combine her research with teaching and supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

This workshop is sponsored by Cell Guidance Systems. They will also be giving short demonstrations of their exosome isolation technologies between 12-14:00 on the Camden Campus.

The workshop will be free for UKEV members (membership must be current on the day of the meeting) and £10 for non-UKEV members. For details of membership please see information on our website www.ukev.org.uk.
