June 18 - Professor Paul Rogers of Bradford University on Global Security in the 21st Century , by Zoom from 10:30-12:30.
June 25 - Discussion Group Meeting on The Ukraine Conflict - Causes & Solutions at the Salvation Army Hall from 10:30-12:30.
NOTE: All are welcome to attend the public meetings. Tickets to gain entry are free of charge.
NOTE: Each of the above events are ticketed separately. Please register for each event you wish to attend.
NOTE: The capacity of the Salvation Army Hall is limited. It is advisable to register early to guarantee a seat in the Hall on June 11 or a seat at the Discussion on June 25.

NOTE: The June 18 event will be held on Zoom only. Following registration, a Zoom invitation link will be emailed to you.
NOTE: The Discussion Group event on June 25 will be held in person only at the Salvation Army Hall.
NOTE: June 15 is the deadline for registering for the Discussion Group Meeting.
[TOPIC] The Ukraine Conflict - Causes and Solutions
[QUESTIONS] The Discussion will discuss the following questions related to the above topic:
- What are the root causes of the conflict?
- What opportunities did the protagonists miss in preventing the occurrence of the conflict?
- Who or what, if any, is causing the conflict to continue or inflate and why?
- What could be the worst likely outcomes if the conflict continues for much longer?
- How and who can help bring about a practicable and sustainable end to the conflict?
- How likely is it for peace to be achieved in the near to mid term?
[ORGANISATION] The Discussion will be organised as follows:
- The group will be divided into two teams, each to be headed by a team leader/scriber to be selected by the teams.
- The team leader will be responsible for maintaining order and time keeping for their teams.
- Both teams will be given an hour to discuss the questions, during which the team leader/scriber will write down the findings.
- After an hour, each team leader/scriber will be asked to present their findings within a 15-minute slot.
- The discussion will be moderated by two moderators.
[MODERATOR] The task of the Moderator will be as follows:
- He/she will start with a brief introduction to the discussion topic, read out the questions and explain the organisation of the team-based discussions.
- He/she will be the primary time keeper for the discussion.
- In case of any dispute, his/her decision will be final.
- At the end of the presentation of findings, he/she will conclude with a brief comment on the findings from the two teams.
NOTES:
- The discussion event will last no longer than two hours. Tea/coffee will be available.
- Attendance is free. Participants will be asked to contribute, if they wish, towards the cost of the hall hire and refreshments.
- The number of participants will be limited to no more than 20, excluding the Moderators.
