UKRRIN INSPIRE: How can we deliver RTS 2024?

Since its inception, the Rail Technical Strategy (RTS) has driven coordinated action in topical areas of technical development.

Updated routemaps for the five industry-agreed RTS functional priorities are being released over the course of 2024. These reflect new opportunities, such as the freight growth target, and highlight the steps needed to make tangible and significant progress towards the 2040 vision.

So how can UKRRIN help to deliver the RTS?

UKRRIN and the Centre of Excellence in Rolling Stock proudly invite you to attend this one-day workshop, taking place Tuesday 15th October 10:30 – 15:30 at the University of Huddersfield to celebrate success and explore new opportunities to work together on the delivery of the RTS.

Join us to:

· Explore the newly refreshed routemaps for the Low Emissions, Optimised Train Operations and Efficient and Reliable Assets functional priorities

· Share your thoughts and question on how to accelerate the journey toward achieving the shared goals stated in the RTS

· Hear case studies of successful R&D and work underway relating to these three priorities

· Tour cutting-edge facilities at the Institute of Railway Research (IRR), and find out about the UKRRIN Centre of Excellence in Rolling Stock (CERS)

· Network with UKRRIN members, academia and industry representatives to create synergies by mapping existing activities and explore opportunities to collaborate on new ideas
