Event description

Description

"Thanks for such a great broadcast training day – it was such an informative session! I’ve been sharing all the insights with my colleagues and they’re very interested in all the tips!"

"Great insight into the mind of a journalist - loved every minute."

Run by broadcaster and author Helen Croydon and Nine Media co-founder Karen Attwood this revamped and extended Ultimate Broadcast Briefing will leave you confident to pitch stories or interviews to broadcasters, prepare yourself or your client for camera and know how to deal with a crisis on air.

Broadcast Secrets will reveal what happens inside a broadcast newsroom, when and how they select their stories and how to build your contacts in the industry. You will learn about the different types of programmes and how planning varies for each, such as radio news, flagship TV news, talk shows and rolling news channels.

Behind the Stories gives a glimpse into the different style of broadcast interview with real examples, including expert interview, an author interview, to a package feature story.

Becoming a Pundit will give you the tools to build your client's profile as a media commentator. Whether it’s a one-off media campaign, or they want to become a regular pundit we will reveal the tools to reaching producers and recognizing interview opportunities.

Live on Air is full of tips on how to perform well on air and get you or your spokespeople camera-ready.

How to Handle a Crisis Interview will show you how to get out of awkward questions and how to react when your client is at the centre of a media storm.

By the end of this expanded four-hour session you will know what news producers and reporters look for in a story. You will have the tools to pitch your client or a story to the right people at the right time and know how to brief your client for a flawless interview.
