About this event

This course is aimed at doctors and other healthcare practitioners who wish to expand their knowledge and skills related to vascular access. Courses run three times a year.

Areas covered on the course include:

  • e-learning resource on the basic principles of ultrasound and indications, complications and management of vascular access.
  • Practical demonstrations and practice in small groups.
  • Troubleshooting, personal practice and videos.

Places on the course are limited to 20.

Organiser of Ultrasound Guided Vascular Access Course

A number of courses are run thoughout the year by consultant anaesthetists based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen, UK. The courses are mostly based in the Suttie Centre which was opened in 2009 and is a joint venture between University of Aberdeen and NHS Grampian.

It is the centre of undergraduate and postgraduate medical educaiton in Aberdeen and has a wide range of facilities including simulated ward areas and a clinical simulation suite.
