About this event

Every writer knows the feeling. That’s all it is - a feeling. Jeremy Dyson shares his favourite tips for neutralising the fear of the blank page garnered from over 20 years of professional work.

Jeremy is one of the League of Gentleman alongside Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith.  He has had a number of books published, including the The Cranes that Build the Cranes, winner of 2010 Edge Hill Award. In 2010, with Andy Nyman he co-wrote and directed the supernatural-themed play Ghost Stories, which ran for over two years in London's West End and has since seen further productions in China, Australia, Canada, Russia and South America. The production was revived in 2019 at the Lyric Hammersmith and has once again transferred to the West End, where it will open at The Ambassadors theatre in October.

In 2011, Roald Dahl's Twisted Tales his adaptation of some of the author's best loved adult short stories, was produced by the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith. In 2015 the series Psychobitches which Jeremy co-wrote and directed for Sky Arts, won the 2015 Rose D'or for best TV Comedy. 2018 saw the release of a film version of Ghost Stories starring Martin Freeman, also co-written and directed by Andy Nyman and Jeremy. It won the Fangoria Chainsaw Award for best First Feature Film, much to the pair's delight - given how they used to pour over the magazine’s blood-soaked pages together as teenagers.

Jeremy’s other work includes being script supervisor on the Tracy Ullman Show, script editor on James Cordon's The Wrong Mans and writing episode 6, series 2, of Killing Eve.
