As part of NACCOM's September webinar series in the run up to our AGM, this virtual workshop will explore how issues like unconscious bias and conscious bias (discrimination) play out in organisations.
When is it?
Wednesday 9th September at 2pm (lasting until 4.15pm, allowing for a break mid-way)
Who is running the workshop?
The webinar is being hosted by Joy Warmington (CEO) and Séverine Seales (Virtual Assistant) from brap.

Content of the workshop:
Aim: How can we secure justice in the world if we do not pay attention to structural racism in the third sector and how issues of racial justice and equality play out in our organisations?
During the workshop participants will have the opportunity to consider how organisational habits, behaviours and culture privileges some above others. Participants will begin to explore and consider what is needed to tackle these issues both within our organisations and across our sector.
Outcomes: By the end of the workshop, participants will: understand more about unconscious bias and the masking of conscious discrimination; have explored different types of biases and their impact on organisational culture and behaviours; and discussed strategies to progress race equality, both at individual and organisational levels. This workshop will be of particular interest to anyone who is interested in understanding more about how racism is normalised both within organisations and across our sector.
Important ticket information:
Tickets are free. We have a very limited number. They will be offered to NACCOM Full Members initially and then go out to Associate Members.
To help the workshop reach as many of our members as possible, we are limiting tickets to 1 per member organisation. We will have to charge £40 for any no-shows.
