Is the event fully booked?

We made a few tickets for sale in advance, and these tickets have sold out. However, this event is a drop-in one, and so you are able to turn up on the day and pay on the door. There may just be a short wait at times to enter, if it is busy.

Can I pay on the door?

There will be tickets on the door, subject to availability. To guarantee entry, we recommend booking in advance.

Question 3

Can I bring older children?

The house opening is aimed at under 5s, but you are welcome to bring older children with your under 5s.

Question 4

How old do I need to be to accompany a child to this event?

Accepted Answer

You must be over 18 years old to accompany a child at this event. All children must be accompanied by an adult with a paid ticket.

Question 5

Can I leave my child while I look round the house?

Accepted Answer

Parents and carers remain responsible for supervising their children during their visit, and children must be accompanied at all times. Staff cannot be responsible for supervising children.

Can I visit on other days when the house is open?

Accepted Answer

Parents/carers and their children are always welcome to visit whenever the house is open. However, this day is targeted specifically at young children, and there will be additional things offered including refreshments and toys. We hope this will make your visit easier and more entertaining.

Is there buggy parking?

Buggies can be left outside the back door of the house, or inside at the front desk at quiet times (space permitting). Please note these buggies will not be supervised and we recommend you take any valuables with you.

Is there a cafe on site?

Unfortunately we do not have a café, but there will be some snacks available in the house for adults and children, and there are plenty of eateries in the local area.

Can I take my buggy round the house?

We ask that buggies are not taken round the house – these can be left near the reception desk.

Is there baby change?

There is one accessible toilet with a baby changing facility in the garden, adjacent to the house. You are also welcome to change your baby in the house.

Can I feed my baby at the house?

Accepted Answer

You are welcome to feed your baby within the house. Extra chairs will be made available at this event. Unfortunately we do not have any bottle-warming facilities.

How long can I stay?

The house will be open from 11am-3pm. You can drop in at any time and stay as long as you like during those hours.

Will the garden be open?

The garden is open while the house is open, and is free to visit.

Can I take photos inside the house?

Photos can be taken for personal use and without flash in the house. You are of course welcome to take pictures of your children, but we ask that you try to avoid any other children in your photos, and do not post pictures of other children on social media.

My child has dietary requirements, what should I do?

There will be a small range of snacks available for children at the event. If your child has allergies and you aren’t sure if the snacks are suitable, please do speak to a member of staff who can advise, or feel free to bring your own snacks with you.

There will be a special reduced rate of £2.35 for adults, and children (18 and under) go free.

Can I visit the house without children?

This is an event for parents/carers and early-years children. Unfortunately we cannot admit adults without children. The house will be open as usual on Sunday 24 March.
