Event description

Description

King's College London is proud to present this rare screening of Alfred Hitchcock's Under Capricorn (1949), presented by Hitchcock experts Charles Barr. Laura Mulvey and Clyde Jeavons.

This FREE screening accompanies a two day symposium celebrating the 70th anniversary of Under Capricorn featuring papers presented by an international array of scholars. It will take place in the Arthur and Paula Lucas Lecture Theatre. Entrance via the main foyer of the KCL Strand Building (on the Strand opposite St Mary Le Strand Church). The theatre in the basement of the building (lift accessible).

You can find details and register for the full symposium (£30 full pass - discounts available) on the KCL estore page https://estore.kcl.ac.uk/conferences-and-events/academic-faculties/faculty-of-arts-humanities/department-of-film-studies/under-capricorn-70

NB We hope this screening will be of the 35mm restored BFI print of the film, however due to some problems with staffing we are currently not able to guarentee that it will be in this form - we may be forced to fall back on a blu-ray source. UPDATE: Things are looking good for 35mm projection!
