Overview

Dan ymchwiliad: Trawsnewid Ymarfer Disgyblu yn y Gweithle

In June 2023, Cardiff Business School hosted a Breakfast Briefing "How to Avoid Investigating your Employees" where colleagues from Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, shared their novel approach to the application of disciplinary policy and process.

The session led to some great conversations and in the following 18 months, the team have refined their approach and greatly expanded their reach, culminating in the publishing of their new book ‘Under Investigation’.

The work proposes a shift in mindset that prioritises employee wellbeing alongside the application of disciplinary policies and processes within organisations and businesses beyond a healthcare context.

You’re invited to join us for this special Business Breakfast Briefing, which will:

  • Explore the wider impact and costs of poorly commissioned and managed disciplinaries;
  • Consider new approaches to applying disciplinary policy and process;
  • Highlight how organisations are taking a ‘last resort’ approach and pursuing informal alternatives first.

Speakers will include:

  • Andrew Cooper, Head of Programmes (Employee Wellbeing), Aneurin Bevan University Health Board
  • Professor Sarah Gilmore, Head of Management, Employment and Organisation Section, Cardiff University
  • Deb Hughes, Service Director of Organisational Development, Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council
  • Dr Adrian Neal, Head of Employee Wellbeing, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board

Please either join us in-person or online. During the registration process, you'll be given the option to choose how you'd prefer to join us for the session.
