In 1807, the Tredegar Wharf Company bought 200 acres of land of what was to become the community of Pillgwenlly, as dock workers flocked to the area from all around the world.
Meeting at Pill Millennium Centre, join the Gwent Archives and Newport Transporter Bridge Project teams, on this 1.5 mile urban walk to discover the history, characters and stories of how this ‘City within a City’ grew under the shadow of our 118-year-old Transporter Bridge.
There, we’ll learn about the current restoration project plus an exclusive opportunity to explore inside the brand-new Visitor Centre- and enjoy some light refreshments!
