Event description

Description

Glasgow Medical School warmly invites S3 pupils from your school to join us for an outreach event at the Wolfson Medical School Building, University of Glasgow, 10am-2pm on Saturday 21st of April 2018.

The event aims to highlight and encourage applications for medical school, and we aim to provide an opportunity for prospective students and their parents to find out more about what it is like to study medicine in one of the top medical schools in the country.

We will also be promoting the REACH programme which aims to support S5/6 students through the application process, focusing on specific schools and pupils with care experience or from MD20/40 postcodes.

Registration should be completed by the Parent/Guardian. When registering, you will be asked to add the pupil's name, school name and school postcode. Please note that all pupils must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Places will be allocated on a first come/first served basis.

There is an informal structure to the day with talks by medical school staff, junior doctors and students. In addition, staff from the medical school and student support services will be happy to take questions about academic requirements for admission and the financial and welfare support available.

You will have access to the Clinical Skills area, where there will be demonstrations of practical skills in clinical medicine, and there will be opportunities to chat informally to staff and students in our cafe area.

We look forward to welcoming you on 21st April.
