About this event

Our undergraduate Taster Days are a perfect introduction to the software and skills taught on our degrees designed with industry. You'll get to see demonstrations from all three disciplines (VFX, Game Art and Animation), as well as get a taste of our expert tutors' teaching styles!

What to expect at our on-campus event:

  • Sit at our socially-distanced workstations for a taster session in each discipline (VFX, Game Art and Animation) to help you decide which course might be for you.
  • Use industry-standard software such as Nuke, Unreal Engine and Maya Autodesk.
  • Get taught by our expert tutors, as well as hear from our Studio Assistants and Student Ambassadors throughout the day.

Important safety information

We are all responsible for ensuring our own safety and safety of others while visiting the campus and attending on-campus Taster Day.

To ensure the safety of all visitors we ask everyone to read through carefully the below information before booking and attending the Taster Day activity.

Before booking your place:

  • Only prospective students will be able to attend the Taster Day. To minimise the number of participants in the building at this occasion we are unable to welcome guests (parents, carers) to attend this activity.
  • The Taster Day will take place in small groups of attendees, following social distancing measures while on-campus.

Before you depart to the campus:

Please keep up to date with the latest COVID-19 advice from the Government.

  • Please make sure you are aware of the symptoms of COVID-19.
  • The new COVID-19 variant (known as Delta) spreads more easily than the other variants that were previously most common. If you’re in an area where the new variant is spreading, you should not attend the activity.
  • If you are feeling unwell and / or have any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to campus. Please stay at home and follow Government advice. Please notify us via email (hello@pearsoncollegelondon.ac.uk) or phone +44 (0)203 553 7064 so we can postpone your place to another time.
  • If you have been in close contact with someone who has recently tested positive for Covid-19, please do not come to campus.
  • Please take a rapid-lateral-flow test 48 hours before attending the activity to minimise the spread of the virus.
  • Please let us know if you require any support or adjustments in order to access our campus no later than 5 working days before the activity. We will make reasonable adjustments where possible.
  • Please plan your journey to / from the campus in advance.

Arriving to the campus:

  • Wear a face covering if using public transport and socially distance from others.
  • Carry an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with you.
  • Please aim to arrive between 10.00 - 10.30 to allow time for a check in.
  • Upon arriving to the building please cooperate with the staff and security to complete entry formalities.

While on-campus:

  • Only prospective students will be able to enter the building and attend the Taster Day. To minimize the number of participants in the building at this occasion we are unable to welcome guests (parents, carers) to attend this activity.
  • The Taster Day will take place in small groups of attendees, following social distancing measures while on-campus.
  • Face coverings must be worn when entering and moving around in the building.
  • Face coverings don't need to be worn when you're taking part in the activity; sitting down in designated study / activity spaces.
  • Always keep a 2-metre distance from others, where physically possible.
  • Please adhere to the one-way system in place throughout the building.
  • Please observe building signage and only use the designated space for the activity.
  • Do not re-arrange chairs or any other furniture or change your allocated space during the activity.
  • Staff members will be able to answer your questions and guide you through the day.

Safety, health and hygiene:

  • Cleaning frequencies have been enhanced at the campus
  • Cafeteria and breakout areas are closed. Please bring your own drinks in closed containers / bottles.
  • Wash Hands often
  • Avoid touching your face
  • Observe Social distancing at all times
  • Wear a face covering (unless you are exempt)
  • Avoid busy areas.

After visiting the campus:

NOTE: Taking into consideration that the circumstances might change, the College is prepared to host this activity online. In the event that Pearson College are not be able to host the activity face to face, we will inform attendees who registered their place via email or text.
