Overview

This 3.5 hour session is aimed at those who already have a basic level of understanding of domestic abuse.

Please note that these sessions are available to professionals working for any business or organisation in Stoke-on-Trent or Staffordshire only.

This 3.5 hour session provides delegates with an understanding of the following topics:

  • An overview of the definition of domestic abuse;, including coercive and controlling behaviour and stalking.
  • the impact on adults, children and young people and the community.
  • How to 'broach the subject'
  • domestic abuse from the perspective of the abuser
  • behaviours of the abuser
  • an overview of the Domestic Abuse Bill and other legislation to support the rights of victims.

Using real life situational case studies to identify issues arising and support available, including MARAC. The session concludes with an overview on New Era’s services, including referral pathways.
