Understanding Accounts

This session will be delivered by award-winning trainer Adrian Ashton – find out more about Adrian at www.adrianashton.co.uk.

Adrian will use a variety of tools and techniques to ensure the session is fun and interactive. If you think accounts are only for accountants – think again! Adrian will help you to understand your organisation’s accounts and you will learn how to use them to make better decisions about managing your organisation’s finances.

The session will include;

• Rationale as to why accounts need to be better understood
• Clarifying myths and misunderstandings about accounts
• Profiling the 3 different financial statements, and how they are used to help inform different types of decisions
• Approaches to pricing services and goods
• Ways to manage accounts and make best use of external support that may be available

Eligibility:

The training is free, all we ask is that your organisation aligns with the JRF/JRHT York Committee’s goal of solving poverty in York. To access the programme, your organisation must be based in and/or operating in York, for the benefit of the residents of York.

Support is also available for directors of social enterprises such as Community Interest Companies; please get in touch for details.
