This session dissects a real-life case study of multiple failures by a business when dealing with wrongdoing from the recruitment of those causing the wrongdoing to media exposure; the aim is to understand common mistakes in dealing with problems, prevent them and instead using effective and sensitive practices that gain the trust of the workers and of clients.
We will go through a timeline of events to examine what went wrong at every step: recruitment reporting process from the staff and from the clients, missing red flags and signs of wrongdoing and a flawed investigation. We will also look at ways in which the scandal could - and would - have been avoided by adopting measures and interventions at every stage of this timeline. This will develop a best practice to use when structuring effective and sensitive processes.
ABOUT SOLVEQUEST
SolveQuest trains and advises organisations on governance and oversight structures.
Many organisations are worried about scandals from workers' misconduct (e.g. discrimination, bullying, sexual misconduct and corruption) or poor quality work, but they do not know how to prevent and identify misconduct. When misconduct materialises, it can cause expensive litigation and reputational damage. Using real-life case-studies, we show organisations how to understand and identify misconduct before it escalates into scandals. We teach organisations how to set up their own systems to prevent problems so that they spend their time and money on prospering rather than dealing with problems.
SolveQuest was developed from the expertise gained after years of supporting and advising whislteblowers. This work led to being invited to advise a Shadow Minister and to contribute to the work of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Whistleblowing. We also have experience in working with wide-ranging media outlets (including the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, The Times, Financial Times, The Guardian, The Independent, the Daily Mail), therefore we understand and can advise on how the media perceives stories and turns them into scandals. Thanks to a legal background (having studied law at Cambridge, Oxford and Coventry universities and having worked as a lawyer in London), we have a practical and analytical approach to training.
SolveQuest was founded out of an aspiration to help organisations prevent misconduct and the causes of misconduct. We genuinely care to help our clients create productive and thriving organisations.
We value that those who attend our training sessions make the most of their time. If you have any questions about any of our sessions or if you are unsure which sessions to book, please do get in touch at contact@solvequest.co.uk. We would be happy to help.
If you require any session tailored to your unique needs, we would be happy to work with you and your organisation to craft individualised training for your requirements.
