Event description

Description

“Without a doubt a must for anyone wishing to understand why a young person behaves the way that they do. I’ve increased my knowledge, skills and confidence considerably and didn’t know it was possible to have so much fun on a training day”

Based on the behavioural psychology ‘Choice Theory’ this course aims to equip those who work with young people or manage staff who work with young people with the confidence to understand what a young person is trying to achieve with their behaviour and to have a range of strategies to work with a young person and keep them engaged.

The course is delivered in a fun and practical way with activities that can be used direct with young people to educate them on what behaviour is and how they can work with it. It will combine theory with examples of successful practical application.

The course will help delegates;

  • Understand what behaviour is and what can make it ‘difficult’

  • Identify drivers for behaviour and what is it trying to achieve

  • Explore a range of practical strategies to work effectively with difficult behaviour

  • Develop a self care and further support plan

All delegates will receive accompanying hand outs and a certificate of attendance that includes the learning outcomes of the course for their personal and professional development.
