About this event

Karen Heslop-Marshall , our lecturer for this course is a Respiratory Nurse Consultant with over 35 years’ experience in respiratory medicine. Karen predominantly works with patients with severe asthma and COPD. Karen has been involved in developing a number of services over the years including pulmonary rehabilitation, community early supported discharge, prevention of admission and oxygen services. She has been involved in representing health professionals on national guidelines for nebulisers, asthma, bronchiectasis, COPD, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Quality Standards for Bronchiectasis and COPD.

Karen has represented nurses on a number of committees including the British Thoracic Society (BTS) and is currently co-chair of the BTS Nurses Specialist advisory group and Chair of ARNS Education & Research Committee. Karen’s passion is to provide holistic care address the physical and psychological needs of patients and completed her PhD in 2016 using cognitive behavioural therapy skills and uses these skills in her nurse led clinics.

This course counts as 4 hours CPD ( 90 minutes participatory and 2.5 hours self directed study) and will include certificate for revalidation
