Understanding Dementia for Informal Carers

Understanding Dementia for Informal Carers

By Dementia Oxfordshire

Overview

A supportive session where we explain different types of dementia and explore strategies for coping with new behaviours.

Do you want to have a better understanding of dementia? Then come along to our education session for informal carers. It's a two-hour, in-person session where you get to meet our team and ask the questions you want to know.

The session will cover three main topics:

  • What is dementia?
  • Understanding dementia – exploring topics in our ‘Understanding dementia’ booklet
  • Services, support, and benefits.

There will be a separate space, with activities, for people living with dementia. (Once you click book, you will have the chance to let us know that they are coming too. )

We try to cover as much of the county as possible by offering these sessions in a different location each time. However, if you're struggling to make it, please consider our online sessions which we run every three months.

Please note, this session is for people who support someone living with dementia who is an Oxfordshire resident.
