About this event
Ready to apply for Arts Council funding but don’t know where to start?
The 2-Step Process is a clear, practical route designed for artists and small organisations who want expert guidance, space to think, and a roadmap to action.
This training and reflection space gives you time to explore your ideas, choose the right funding route, and map out your next steps with expert guidance along the way.
How it works
- Everyone starts with this session, which is Step 1: Getting Started (1.5hrs)
- You then choose either Step 2a (DYCP) or Step 2b (NLPG)
- To get the most of the session, please bring a project idea to your chosen 3-hour session
- You will leave with practical tools, expert advice, and a personalised roadmap for your application
Step 2a: Applying for Developing your Creative Practice (3 hrs) - Thursday 16 October, 5pm-8pm.
For artists with a clear project idea focused on their own development.
- What ACE looks for in a DYCP application
- How to frame and present your idea
- How to strengthen your application
You will leave with a roadmap for your DYCP application.
Step 2b: Applying for National Lottery Project Grants (3 hrs) - Saturday 18 October, 10am-1pm
For artists and organisations with a project idea involving audiences or collaborators.
- Eligibility, budgets, and partnerships
- How to align your project with ACE priorities
- Space to test and refine your idea with expert support
You will leave with a clear set of actions to strengthen your NLPG application.
