Welsh Women’s Aid are offering Understanding Experiences and Effects of VAWDASV on Deaf Survivors training to practitioners working in the statutory sector to have improved knowledge about the approach, skills, and resources necessary to provide a competent response to deaf survivors, including effective support and advocacy.


Learning objectives:

  • Develop an understanding of deafness and deaf culture.
  • Appreciate and understand the impacts and barriers of VAWDASV for deaf or hard of hearing survivors.
  • Strengthen their understanding of the main issues of providing a sensitive and appropriate service to deaf or hard of hearing survivors.


This training is available to those working in statutory services in Wales only.
