Explore the history of the Fens and their people from the Roman period to the Early Modern era

About this Event

Join the Spalding Gentlemen's Society for an exploration of the history of Fenland society from the Roman period to the early modern era. In addition to a series of talks by leading historians and archaeologists, attendees will hear about recent and ongoing research led by local scholars, and learn about all that the SGS has to offer to local historians through a special tour of its museum, library and archive.

Speakers include: Dr Richard Jones (Leicester), Professor Stephen Upex (Cambridge), Dr Susan Kilby (Leicester & Nottingham), Dr John Morgan (Manchester), Professor Michael Chisholm (Cambridge), and Dr Dustin Frazier Wood (Roehampton and SGS), Dr Michael Gilbert (SGS) and Dr Avril Lumley-Prior (SGS).

All tickets include tea and coffee, lunch, and a tour of the SGS.
