About this event

Our CPD accredited LGBTQ+ training raises awareness of domestic abuse and the issues faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer + (LGBTQ+) people. This training is aimed at professionals from every sector, who are interested in expanding their knowledge and skills to support and empower LGBTQ+ victims and survivors.

At the end of the course participants will:

  • Have an increased understanding of LGBTQ+ identities
  • Have greater understanding of intersectionality
  • Have better understanding of domestic abuse and experiences of LGBTQ+ people
  • Understand the prevalence of abuse against LGBTQ+ victims
  • Be aware of myths and stereotypes, and they connect with domestic abuse
  • Increased understanding of barriers and requirements of LGBTQ+ individuals in accessing services
  • Have greater confidence in supporting LGBTQ+ victims of domestic abuse
