This introductory session explores the various ways we can support students with multi-sensory impairment (MSI). We will focus on how MSI impacts pupils' access to learning, as well as the use of differentiated teaching strategies across the curriculum as a way to combat this. This session combines essential theoretical knowledge with practical strategies and attendees learning will be assessed through applied tasks at the end of the session.
NCFE Level 3 Award
Briarwood School has worked together with the NCFE to offer those taking part in our sessions the opportunity to earn a Level 3 Award in Supporting Learners with Complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This award has been accredited as a Customised Qualification by the NCFE, and we have benchmarked the qualification’s learning outcomes and assessment criteria at Level 3 to allow you to demonstrate the level of study.
Completion of five accredited units is required to achieve the Award. Briarwood School is offering in excess of 25 different units from which to choose from across the year, covering a wide range of topics. There is one mandatory unit ‘Safeguarding Learners with Complex Needs’ which all participants must complete, which will run multiple times across the year. All other units are at the learner's discretion. Please see our Eventbrite page for full list of available sessions and our website for full details of how to gain the Award.
