Understanding Neurodivergent Burnout
By Whitney Iles
Online event
Overview
Equip attendees to recognise, prevent, and recover from neurodivergent burnout by distinguishing it from occupational burnout and from ME/CF
Aim
Equip attendees to recognise, prevent, and recover from neurodivergent burnout by distinguishing it from occupational burnout and from ME/CFS, then applying practical, ND-affirming strategies in daily life and work.
Learning outcomes (by the end, participants will be able to…)
- Differentiate neurotypical/occupational burnout, neurodivergent burnout, and ME/CFS in plain language (and know when to seek medical assessment).
- Spot early signs of ND burnout across autism/ADHD presentations (e.g., sensory intolerance, skill loss/shutdown vs general “exhaustion + cynicism”).
- Map personal energy drains/chargers (environmental, sensory, social, masking, schedule load) and set one actionable boundary.
- Select ND-affirming recovery steps (unmasking time, adjustments, assistive tech, pacing) and know when to escalate to clinical support.
- Co-design adjustments at work/home/school (quiet space, flexible scheduling, communication preferences) that reduce relapse risk.
Who this webinar is for:
