This course is designed to give attendees an understanding of the timescales and procedures behind the processes introduced in the foundation course. It will discuss the requirements of ministers in responding to those processes, and will introduce participants to the work of departmental parliamentary offices. The course will also give attendees an understanding of contemporary parliamentary culture, including influences on MPs and Peers, and reforms over the last decade.

This course is suitable for all civil servants, but will be particularly beneficial to colleagues at HEO grade and above, particularly those in policy roles.
