Understanding pests & diseases

This course provides an overview of common pests and diseases affecting fruit trees, focusing on identification, prevention, and management strategies.

You'll learn about various organisms, including insects, fungi, bacteria, and viruses, and how they impact fruit tree health and productivity. You'll also learn best practices for maintaining healthy fruit trees to ensure optimal growth and fruit production.

Location

We'll start the course in the classroom at St Chad's Parish Church, and venture out to Headingley Community Orchard to have a look at some fruit trees for the last half of the session.

In order to make the course more accessible to those on a low income, we have three ticket options based on a sliding scale. All tickets give the same level of access to the workshop.
