About this event

    Webinar overview

Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological conditions, affecting up to seventy million people worldwide. Around 1 in 5 cases of epilepsy follow a head trauma, resulting in post-traumatic epilepsy. This is the most common form of epilepsy starting in adulthood.

In this webinar the Epilepsy Research Institute will be joined by Dr Marco Mula, a Consultant in Neurology and Epileptology at St George's University Hospital. Together the speakers will explain what we know about epilepsy after a head injury, how common it is, what treatments and support are available for people with post-traumatic epilepsy and what steps can be taken to prevent it. The webinar will also cover stats and facts about epilepsy and introduce the Epilepsy Research Institute.
