The seminar will provide a useful overview of key construction law “need to knows” including:

  • Procurement methods and principal members of the construction team
  • JCT standard form building contracts and why we amend them
  • Managing design risk- Design and Build explained
  • Consultant appointments
  • Limitation of liability
  • Collateral warranties and third party rights
  • Insurance issues on refurbishment and extension projects, with a real life case study showing how insurance covers risk. Learning from recent major claims
  • An update on developments in Professional Indemnity cover and how to use other policies to manage risk
