Aims of the course:
This course aims to:
Explore young children’s learning and development through the identification
and understanding of their schemas;
Consider how schematic development may be nourished;
Investigate how adults may accompany children in learning environments to nurture schematic development.
Practitioners working with young children under five years of age.
This course will address the essential skills and practice to:
Identify how young children may pursue their schemas;
Understand children’s particular patterns of thinking;
Respond conceptually to children in learning encounters.
You will leave with:
A better understanding of different kinds of schemas;
Insight into how young children may pursue their schemas in an early years, or home environment;
A better understanding of how to accompany children as they pursue their schemas.
