Biography - Dr Claire Stubbs is a practising psychological therapist and Senior Trainer for Boingboing. She was a lead author of the Guide to Addressing Mental Health Issues – a Resilience Based Approach (hereafter called the Schools Mental Health Guide), developed in partnership with East Sussex County Council in 2017 to 2018. The Schools Mental Health Guide uses a resilience based approach to address specific, day to day issues around mental health in schools. It sets out the policy drivers and evidence for schools to be at the forefront of mental health promotion and early intervention, as part of a whole school, systems change approach which can impact on engagement, attendance and attainment. It goes on to address some commonly experienced  behavioural and engagement issues for pupils that can be effectively addressed by focusing on underlying mental health need.

Claire has worked in a therapeutic role directly with young people and has  trained and supervised practitioners in Early Years, Early Intervention teams, Schools. Most recently, this work has focused on the Blackpool HeadStart programme in which Claire has played a lead role in coaching and supervising practitioners working with the most challenging cases of mental health issues for children and young people.
