About this event

* *AVAILABLE TO THOSE WORKING IN WALES, UK ONLY**

Safelives have identified that many practitioners often feel that they lack the confidence needed to ask their clients about sexual violence and are unsure of how to respond to disclosures. This is an awareness raising course that is intended to build your knowledge, confidence and skills in order to improve your professional response to victims of sexual violence, and in doing so reduce risk to victims of sexual violence.

Learning outcomes will provide learners with the ability to:

  • Understand sexual violence in relations to adults, young people and children.
  • Understand the impact of sexual violence & child sexual abuse.
  • Understand good practice in relation to supporting individuals affected by sexual violence.

Please contact trainingservices@storicymru.org.uk for more information.

**Please note that this course is being delivered with a strong health / trigger warning. We will be talking about children, young people and adults, but the course will focus on improving professional responses to sexual violence rather than the specifics of what sexual violence looks like because we recognise the risk of triggering or re-traumatising learners.**

Delivered via MS Teams in partnership with SafeLives and f unded by the Welsh Government.
