Event description

Description

A half day workshop exploring how to unlock graduate level opportunities within SMEs. Smaller businesses make up a huge proportion of many local economies, and are ripe with graduate opportunities if you know where and how to look! This course will share ideas and top tips for engaging with SMEs in your region, and highlight common pitfalls and areas of best practice.

By the end of the workshop you will:

  • Understand the concerns and priorities of SMEs, and their ‘typical’ behaviours
  • Have top tips and tactics for attracting your target employers
  • Be confident engaging with SMEs within your region
  • Implement 1-3 actions that will make a difference in your role

Who should attend?

  • Employer engagement staff
  • Placement officers
  • Academics with a business engagement or placements remit
  • University staff looking to engage with local SMEs

The session will be delivered by Kylie Cook & Kerry Hyde, Gradconsult

Feedback from participants on Kylie and Kerry's previous courses:

“In the workshops Kylie brings the case studies and exercises to life, she engages and tailors her approach with each delegate and the buy-in she receives is reflected in the success of her work.”

“I honestly couldn’t fault anything. The content was some of the most useful and clear I’ve come across, the passion within the organisation really shone through”.

“Such a motivating and informative course. The content was good but how you delivered it was excellent…What really benefited me was hearing your ideas from a university, employer and third party perspective. Well worth the money and more importantly the time”
