“Understanding the diversity of individuals with dementia and the importance of inclusion”

 

Learning Outcomes:

1.  Understand and appreciate the importance of diversity of individuals with dementia

2.   Understand the importance of person centred approaches in the care and support of individuals with dementia

3.   Understand ways of working with a range of individuals who have dementia to ensure diverse needs are met

 28th February 2019 - “Dementia awareness”

 25th April 2019 - The person-centred approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia

 23rd May 2019 - “Understanding the role of communication and interactions with individuals who have dementia"

 

All sessions will be held in Rounds Green Library, Martley Rd, Oldbury West Midlands B69 1DZ and will start at 9.30am (with registration from 9.15am) and finish at 4.30pm.

 

These sessions make up the Level 2 ‘Award in Awareness of Dementia’, accredited by the Open College Network London Region (OCNLR). Delegates can apply to undertake the qualification by emailing info@dementiapathfinders.org

 

To fulfil the requirements of the qualification, learners will be required to complete a series of assignments for assessment. A fee of £160 will be charged to cover the cost of registration with OCNLR, administration and marking.
