Event description

Description

What is the workshop about?

The new European General Regulation on Data Protection takes effect on 25 May 2018. Organised in partnership with CVS Bedfordshire, this workshop looks at what the GDPR means for organisations and what they need to do as a result.

What will it cover?

The workshop will consider what the GDPR does; and how this will affect the way in which organisations collect and process data. It will consider the effect the GDPR might have on VCSE and other third sector organisations; and what steps they should be taking to ensure compliance. Attendees are welcome to bring their own policies and drafts for consideration in this respect.

Outcomes

Participants will:

(a) Have improved understanding of the GDPR.

(b) Be aware of their organisation’s duties, and the steps needed to ensure compliance with data protection law.

(c) Be more confident in applying best practice to data protection.

The trainer

The workshop will be run by David Green, director of Green Pepper Consulting. David has many years of experience dealing with employment relations, employment law and management issues, including in the area of data protection. He is also the trustee lead on data protection for a Leicestershire charity.
