Description

DESCRIPTION
The General Practice Forward View (GPFV) represents a step change for general practice. Not only does it outline help for struggling practices, it also sets out plans to reduce workload, expansion of a wider workforce, investment in technology and estates, and a national development programme to accelerate transformation of services. Furthermore, locally, the overarching ambition for the NCL STP (North Central London Sustainability and Transformation Plan) is to have a workforce that can deliver the care models and strategic priorities of the STP, and help meet the financial obligations. Therefore, there are two key workforce priorities: securing the right number of staff to work in the NCL to meet the growing needs of the population, as well as developing existing staff so they have the right skills to deliver the new models of care described in the STP. In response to these strategic ambitions, a number of activities have gained momentum in the NCL. One of these is to further develop and better utilise new roles in Primary Care, including Physician Associates, Nursing Associates, Medical Assistants and Practice based Pharmacists. As part of this, staff have expressed a need to better understand the ‘new face of primary care’ including these new roles. This half-day workshop will provide you with an opportunity to increase your understanding of the changes in primary care including the new roles, and to discuss how these could positively impact on your work. You will have a chance to contribute to the approach Camden takes in introducing or further developing these roles, and learn more about what your organisation can expect to gain from these changes.

THREE THINGS YOU WILL LEAVE WITH
• Improved understanding of the strategic direction in NCL
• Increased knowledge about the new roles
• Improved understanding of the potential impact of these new roles
