Event description
Getting to grips with the PVG process can be difficult. This in-depth session is a training essential for voluntary organisations or groups.

About this Event

This session will cover the following topics:

· An overview of regulated work with children and protected adults to see who can be PVG checked. Looking at areas such as normal duties and activities being carried out as well as some roles where a person can be PVG checked without actually directly working with children.

· the legal obligations you are under for making referrals under the PVG Scheme in relation to those who have been volunteering/working for you and who have behaved inappropriately. Understanding the concepts of 'harm' and 'risk of harm' in relation to the PVG Scheme and how that feeds into the referral process and looking at referrals, listing and barring – in relation to people who are excluded from the Scheme and cannot undertake roles that fall under PVG.

· How do we apply for a PVG – there are different methods, what are they and which one is best for us?

· PVG Information – what information about an individual will we be given and how do we then use it in making a recruitment decision?

· There will also be time at the end for any questions that you may have around what we will be discussing in the session and any other PVG related queries you may have.

This will be an MS Teams meeting, link will follow closer to Event.
