Understanding the Schools Landscape: Election Edition
Date and time
Description
Policy context | Mechanics of marketing to schools| Opportunities for funding and co-production
What will the election mean for the education sector? Will there be a reshuffle? Will schools have the funding, time and enthusiasm needed for ‘enrichment’ programmes?
This election could signal the beginning of a period of rapid change for education in the UK, and it will be crucial for providers to know what schools are looking for, and how their programmes could fit into a new landscape. Social change consultants notdeadfish will give their view on how providers can make their case for the value of their programmes to schools under increasing pressure.
This free session from notdeadfish is for those interested in better understanding the school context to ensure that their offers better engage and support schools and ultimately lead to more #BrilliantResidentials.
Anita Kerwin-Nye brings considerable experience of the education sector to this discussion event to answer questions at the heart of working with schools: who are the Regional School Commissioners? What are emerging Multi Academy Trust structures? What are the new accountability measures? What is the EBACC and how can those involved in providing #BrilliantResidentials work with it? How does delivering residentials sit alongside delivering a good score in the Progress 8 measure? How can we ensure and measure equitable access? How do Pupil Premium and social mobility fit with residential programmes?
The school system faces the biggest series of changes it has seen for a generation, and there is widespread speculation that June’s election will increase the pace of change with the Conservative majority. Changes to accountability and grading frameworks, curriculum and school structures like Multi Academy Trusts are already in force – grammar schools, further qualification reform and above all changing and reducing budgets are all on the horizon.
By the end of the session participants should have a better view of:
- Accountability frameworks that govern schools
- Structures in the school system – and how they might look in the future
- Key points of influence – and what reshuffles might mean
- Pressures on schools and how providers can navigate them
