This session provides an in-depth overview of the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and the accompanying quality standards. It is designed for leaders, managers, and staff working in supported accommodation for 16 –17 year olds. Participants will explore the purpose, scope, and practical application of the regulations, with a focus on how they impact day-to-day practice, compliance, and inspection outcomes.
Through interactive discussion and case studies, the training will build confidence in applying the standards, evidencing compliance, and embedding a culture of safeguarding and development for young people.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the purpose and scope of the Supported Accommodation Regulations (2023).
2. Understand the four Quality Standards and how they underpin safe and effective practice.
3. Identify the roles and responsibilities of registered service providers and managers under the new framework.
4. Explore how Ofsted inspects against the regulations and how to evidence compliance.
5. Apply the regulations to real-life scenarios in supported accommodation settings.
6. Reflect on how to embed a safeguarding culture that meets both regulatory and young people’s needs.
