The landscape of the FE finance is changing - Were you aware that the special insolvency regime is most like to take place in 2019? and the deadline for final applications for the ESFA restructuring facility is in September 2018. 

With the uncertainly around the insolvency regime coming in to place the Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) have set up a Transaction Unit to provide colleges with support around additional funding. As well as providing alternative solutions around financial recovery.

Wither you’re a college that is going through the restructuring process or is in good financial health it is important to understand how the landscape of the FE finance is going to change.

  • Leads the work in assessing and challenging college restructuring plans that arise from area reviews
  • Manages proposals for sixth form colleges to become academies
  • Negotiates and agrees recommendations for exceptional financial support
  • Leads the unit on making loans and investment decisions utilising funds from the restructuring facility
  • Manages the internal and external scrutiny boards for restructuring facility applications and manage the process for securing decisions from Accounting Officers and HM Treasury
  • Manages the response to area review questions about the conditions for making applications to the restructuring facility
